Accompanied by an Aymara shaman, passengers will make payments to the “Pachamama” or Mother Earth. In these offerings travelers participate, chew coca leaves and deliver offerings that the shaman uses in the Ceremony. This rite pre-dates the conquest and consequent introduction of Catholicism to Peru.
